A while back I asked about the lack of ability to charge experts a monthly subscription amount to keep their listings and to add new ones. At that time I was advised this was currently not available but will be in a future release. How far is this feature? This is critical to my site going live.

Yes, we plan to release this as a new premium extension but unfortunately there’s no exact timeframe at the moment, currently we’re working on a new theme.
Paid listings (suscriptions) will help me as well. My use case: invite property owners to pay a certain some of money per month to keep the property on the platform (+ different levels, 1 property=X Eur, 3 properties= Y EUR, and so on).
