is there any other way to disable the google fonts in HivePress other than using a 3rd party plugin?

It’s possible, but requires a custom code snippet. Please try using one of the snippets suggested here How to properly dequeue scripts and styles in child theme? - WordPress Development Stack Exchange The style name to dequeue is “google-fonts”.
