Do I need a child theme for Listinghive or Rentalhive

Question is do I need a child theme? or can the installed plugins survive theme updates WITHOUT needing a child theme.

Hi @artistry,

Generally, you don’t need to use a child theme unless you’re planning on making a lot of changes to the theme’s files.

Plugin updates shouldn’t effect the theme that you’re using, and whether you’re using the parent theme, or a child-theme, you’ll still be able to update the theme when HivePress push out updates.

If you’re only looking to make minor changes to the theme, you can simply add CSS in Appearance > Customise > Additional CSS.

If you do decide to use a child-theme there’s plenty of free plugins that will help you generate one from the parent theme.
