How to allow selecting parent categories

I have listing categories like this:

  • Main category 1
    • sub category
    • sub category
  • Main category 2
    • sub category
    • sub category
      On the front page and in the back It is possible to select a subcategory but not a main category. Is it possible to change that behaviour?
      Maybe with some kind of code change? with a code snippit?

Hi,

Unfortunately, there is no such option, it will require a custom implementation. Also, we do not recommend making changes, as it can break the functionality of category selection, so we recommend focusing on selecting child categories.

Okay, then I will use an extra subcategory with the name of the main category.
