How to make my blog page look the same as the bottom footer widget?

So on my site, I created a Blog tab on the home page to display posts. However, when I click on the Blog tab at the top, I don’t like how it looks.

But when I click on the bottom footer that says Blog (and then I click the employment link below), I like how they present the blog post.

How can I change the Blog header tab to display posts in the same way as the Blog footer tab?

Also when I click the Blog footer link, the site is www.mysite.com/category/employment. When I click the blog tab at the top it takes me to www.mysite.com/blog/.

Any advice?

Ok, I figured it out. For anyone else who’s interested, here’s what I did.

I had to go to settings, reading, your homepage displays (check static page), and where it says posts page, select my Blog page in the dropdown.
