Issues with the blog section

Hi, I’m trying to start adding relevant blog posts to my site, but I have a few issues.

One, is there a way to format it so I have a color bar background on either side and the content in the middle in white? Here’s an example to show what I mean: Can a Foreigner Get a Mortgage or Personal Loan in Thailand?
Notice how there is grey on either side. I couldn’t find how to do that with the hivepress blog settings.

And also, I want to add in an affiliate banner. When I try to add in code, it just shows the actual code rather than converting it to the clickable banner.

And if I want to have links on the side like the example shown, how would I do that?

I have also tried this with Buymeacoffee.com. I set up an account, got the button code, and tried to insert it at the end of my blog post using both “custom html” and “code” buttons but then when I go to preview, once again, it doesn’t show any button, it just shows the actual code. How can I fix this?

Hi,

You can customise the blog page with the available functions in the Dashboard - Posts.
All other settings that are not available there will require custom implementation.

Hope this helps.

You didn’t really answer any of my questions.

Why is it that when I use the insert code options on the blog, it doesn’t actually use the code. It simply shows the code in text form.

It doesn’t convert the code into the clickable button, which it is supposed to do.

Hi,

Most likely, you have entered HTML code in the text field, which is why nothing is displayed. Also, please note that posts are not a HivePress feature, but a WordPress feature, so I recommend checking out this tutorial How to Start a WordPress Blog in 2023 (Beginner's Guide)

I clicked add block, then code, and where it says “write code” I pasted the code in. But it didn’t work.

I also tried clicking add block, then custom html, and where it says “write html” I pasted the code in. But still, it only showed the code.

I don’t think this is the text field because that would be the paragraph block, not the code or custom html blocks.

Hi,

Unfortunately, we could not reproduce the issue, everything works locally. I recommend you to check out this tutorial Adding HTML to a WordPress Page or Post
Also, please disable third-party plugins and customizations (if there are any) and check if this issue persists. If you use a caching plugin, make sure that caching is disabled for logged-in users.

Ok, thanks, I’ll check out the link.
