Location field saves nothing, shows empty — Google Maps works fine

I configured Google Maps API correctly: the key is valid, API works, and when typing an address the autocomplete suggestions appear perfectly. But when I save the listing or vendor profile, the location field value disappears — it looks like it never saved anything, and the system says the field is empty or incomplete. Why doesn’t it store the location data? Should the location field type be set to “Geolocation” instead of plain text? Where exactly do I change the field type for listings and vendor profiles?

Also, please confirm that you select the address from the dropdown suggestions rather than simply entering it manually. This is a crucial step because the selected address is saved together with its latitude and longitude coordinates.
