Removing "Archives" from Google Search Listings

Hello HivePress Community,

I hope you’re all doing well.

I’m seeking assistance with an issue related to my website’s search listings. I’ve noticed that the term “archives” appears in the URLs and titles of some of my pages when they appear in Google search results. I’d like to remove this term to improve my site’s SEO and ensure that my listings are presented more accurately.

Could anyone provide guidance on the following:

  1. Adjusting Permalink Structure: How can I modify my permalink settings in HivePress to exclude the term “archives” from appearing in my URLs?
  2. Updating Page Titles and Meta Descriptions: What steps should I take to edit the titles and meta descriptions of my pages to remove the term “archives”?
  3. Refreshing Google’s Index: After making these changes, what is the best way to request Google to re-crawl and update the affected pages?

I’ve made some initial adjustments, but I’m looking for further recommendations to ensure that the term “archives” is completely removed from my search listings.

Thank you in advance for your help and advice!

Hi,

  1. You can customize URLs using this documentation: How to customize URL structure - HivePress Help Center

  2. You can set meta titles and descriptions on any page with SEO plugins like Rank Math or Yoast.

  3. Please check this topic: Ask Google to Recrawl Your Website | Google Search Central  |  Documentation  |  Google for Developers

Please note that this is not a HivePress-specific setting, so we cannot provide more details.

I hope this is helpful to you.
