# Show customer booking notes in vendor Orders list + add email token for booking note

Hi HivePress team,

We’re running a booking marketplace on **WordPress + HivePress + WooCommerce** We noticed a usability issue that causes vendors to miss critical information from customers.

## Problem

When a customer completes a booking, they can leave important details in the booking “note” field (event specifics, location etc.).

Currently this customer note is only visible to vendors here:  
**Vendor Dashboard → Bookings → open a specific booking → details inside**

This is quite hidden and some vendors miss it, which can lead to:

- vendors calling the client without reading the key info

- mistakes on the time/place of the photoshoot

- customer frustration and support overhead for our platform

## What we want to achieve

### 1) Show the booking note in the vendor “Orders” list (or at least in the order details)

Vendors often look first at **Orders** rather than **Bookings** (especially when payment is involved), so it would help a lot if the booking note appears:

- as a column (short excerpt) in **Orders list** , or

- in **Order details** screen in the vendor dashboard, with a clear label like “Customer message / booking note”

Even an excerpt like 120 characters with “View more” would be enough.

### 2) Provide a token/placeholder for emails (for vendors)

We send vendor email notifications and would like to include the booking note via a token, something like:

- `{booking_note}`

- `{booking_message}`

- `{customer_message}`

This would ensure vendors see the most important info immediately, without needing to navigate into the booking details screen.

## Reproduction steps

1. Customer selects a listing and starts a booking.

2. Customer fills the “note/message” field with important details.

3. Customer completes payment / booking confirmation.

4. Vendor receives the booking and checks the dashboard:

1. Is there a built-in way to display that booking note in the vendor Orders screen (or to add a custom column/hook there)?

2. Is there already an existing email placeholder for the booking note that we can use?

3. If not, would you consider adding:

This would improve vendor response quality significantly, especially for “first-time vendors” or vendors who don’t log in frequently.

Thanks for the detailed feedback.

You can add a new column to the orders table using the `hivepress/v1/templates/order_edit_block` hook.

Regarding the `booking.note` token, it already exists in the booking emails. If you select, for example, the “Booking Confirmed (Vendor)” email template, this token is available and can be used there.
