Hello, im building a nice directory with Hivepress.
Im having some trouble with the search form. I just allow the users to search by categories. When i click on the form a drop down comes down with no alphabetical order between categories and subcategories. If the users search by “Category Cards” that appears on alphabetical order, but the order on the dropdown have no sense.
There is a way to order that?
Also, there is a posibility to have a “hyperlink” on the form so the users just search the category and when clicks on the category goes straights to the results instead of click on search.
If you mean to change the order in the search bar for the categories field, you can navigate to WP Dashboard > Listings > Categories > edit category and set the order.
But I have 5 principal categories + about 200 subcategories.
All of them are with 0 value in order which is by default.
What I don’t understand is why when I seen the categories in the listing category card, when I enter to the subcategories shows in alphabetical order, and in the form no.
Should be a tedious work to go each category and subcategories and set up a order, and if in the future I add some sub category in the middle, I should change everything again?
I see. We checked in more detail and this bug exists in this version, it has been added to the Roadmap and will be fixed in future updates. For now, the only workaround is to specify the order manually.
Sorry for the inconvenience, if you mean inconsistency in the custom order for categories this wasn’t fixed yet, categories in the drop-downs follow alphabetical order in the current version.
My drop-down from the search bar is not following alphabetical order.
Actually, it doesn’t follow any criteria (category date creation, category order, alphabetical), and it changes any time that i modify or create a new category.
Sorry for the confusion. Yes, there is an issue with the order of the attribute selector options in this version, but we plan to fix it as soon as possible.
