Please provide more details. What video format are you using? Have you tried it on another mobile device? What display format attribute did you specify? What phone are you using?
I’m using mp4, tested on three devices, on iphone plays but does not appear the thumbnail image, and Android appeared this error in motorola g6 with Android 9, in other devices appears normally

Most likely, this is the specificity of native plugins of various devices, so they work differently. Please try to use any player plugin with a shortcode, and use this shortcode in the display format.
