Notes:

• SVG are image files, though obviously it can ‘look’ like an icon.

• By default WordPress doesn’t allow you to upload SVG files, hence the other link.

Thank you for your response. The first link is a little hard to follow. Would you be able to give me a more comprehensive solution?

I have not created a template part that overrides the category icon yet. What would be the steps needed to replace the icons (to images or svg)?
