Is this common? I believe I have followed the correct steps to set this up but it continues to fail authentication. I have also posted in a WP facebook group for support.

If you’re referring to that plugin, please try contacting their support team: MC4WP: Mailchimp for WordPress, as those settings are outside HivePress’s scope. All HivePress does is integrate their checkbox (like “Subscribe to newsletter”) into the registration form, everything else related to Mailchimp configuration is handled in their plugin.
