Hi,
since there will always be many things that can’t be done either with the Rentalhive bookings or the marketplace extensions, we all have to wait until features are added to future updates. That is fine, but until updates are available, vendors (owners) should have a better way to inform users (guests) about limitations. Currently I tell them to inform their users/guests about certain limitations in the Description field of their listings.
There is already a feature called Booking note, that allows for vendors to add a note after someone makes a booking. Maybe it could be useful to make that Booking note appear before booking, instead of after. I mean, that note could appear in the booking confirmation page. And it could be a field that users/guests have to mark as read before they can continue to the payment, similar to the usual checkboxes that users have to mark accepting Terms and Conditions before purchasing something.
As a more specific example, one feature request that is already approved but not implemented, is the ability to block certain time slots every day automatically, instead of doing that manually.
Let’s say I offer a tennis lesson by the hour, from 9 AM to 18 PM. But I need to have lunch at 14, so I need to block every day a few time slots, 14-15 and 15-16. So far, the only way to do this is manually day by day, but it is supposed to be in the features to be added in the future.
In the meantime, I would add in the description of my listing something like: - Please do not book between 14 and 16
But many users will not read everything all the time. Then someone will book at 14, and I would have to cancel that booking and explain the user.
Now if I could add the Booking note to the booking confirmation page that appears after selecting a date and clicking on Book Now, then I could force users to read the note (adding a checkbox and making this field required), and I could leave a note like:
- Please make sure your reservation is not between 14 and 16.
- Make sure you indicated the amount of people booking
- Please bring your own racquets
etc…
The checkbox could say: - I have read the note
It is far from a perfect solution, but I think it could help avoid many cases of erroneous bookings
