I understand that in the current settings, user 1 is linked to 1 company, but if user 1 lists jobs for multiple companies as a vendor, is there a way to set it from the front end?
Unfortunately there’s no such option if you use vendors as companies, there’s a one-to-many relationship between vendors and listings (jobs) in the database. There may be a workaround if you use a custom Select attribute as Company, you can also make it public so each attribute option page will list jobs assigned to it, the downside is that these will not look like fully-featured profile pages like the vendor pages do.
