Hi, i’m building a website - it has a coming soon page live at the moment, whilst it is in development mode.
I’d like to put a link on that coming soon page to the submit a listing form so that businesses can start to populate the content and create their user profiles ahead of going live so that it has information on it for launch. Is this possible?
In this case I recommend creating a custom page with the “Coming soon” message in WordPress/Pages and set it as a front page in Settings/Reading, you can also assign an empty menu to the Header location in Appearance/Menus. This way the website will be empty, with a coming soon message on the home page and Sign In/Register + Add Listing links. Meanwhile you can create other pages just without adding them to the menu yet.
Could I just clarify , does that mean that Google would start indexing the rest of the pages behind it and return them in SERPS before the site is signed off?
If you use a SEO plugin (e.g. Rank Math), you can enable “noindex” option for those pages and disable it when the site is live. Users can also guess the pages URL, but there may be a workaround if you enable the Private option for them or keep them in Draft status.
Can I change the menu on the submit a listing form page? 've downloaded customer menues as assigned a blank menu the custom page, however as soon as I click ‘List a Property’ button, it takes me to the form to complete however has the full menu navigation along the top to see the entire site.
Can I change the menu on the form page? I hope that makes sense?
Also can I change the button text that says ‘List a Property’ to ‘Say List a Business’?
