It seems that messages cannot be send between users and vendors through Messages plugin if the message contains emojis. When clicking “Send message” it doesn’t do anything but when I delete the emojis from the message and click “Send message” it works. Even further, there is no error message when emojis are included and cannot be sent which is confusing for users because they don’t know why the message is not sent.
Especially as majority of the users use mobile phones nowadays to browse the web they likely intuitively use emojis in their messages. Thanks for your advise on how to solve this issue.
We checked this issue from our side, and it seems okay. Please provide more details regarding this issue (e.g., your actions step by step with screenshots, etc.). This will help us to reproduce and resolve the issue faster.
I see. We tested this on an iPhone (Safari) by selecting the emojis that are on the keyboard, and everything was sent correctly. Please disable third-party plugins and customizations (if there are any) and check if this issue persists. If you use a caching plugin, make sure that caching is disabled for logged-in users.
I disabled all plugins (and disabled caching plugin aswell completely). Only plugins that remained were HivePress and HivePress messages but the problem is still the same… Also the problem is the same when trying to submit new listings i.e. listing cannot be submitted if there is emoji in any textbox in the form.
There is no error message when trying to submit the form or message with emoji. Nothing just happens when clicking “Send message” button. The problem is the same with any device (mobile or desktop). This is very frustrating problem so hopefully there is a solution to this…
