Change Display name in WordPress dashboard

Hello,

After creating an Account if I choose to change my Display Name under Account details and click save change, it states “Account details changed successfully.” however my Display name hasn’t changed and instead reverted back to the old Display name.

Under Display Name it states “This will be how your name will be displayed in the account section and in reviews” however the display name is still the old display name. when it’s suppose to reflect the new one.

In the Backend under HivePress>Settings>Users>Display Name it’s set to Username. yet the above issue still persists.

Is there any way that the display name can really be the selected display name? Or ist it always one of the options you can select in the hive press settings?

Hi,

Yes, it follows the rule you selected in HivePress > Settings > Users > Display Name. If you choose “Username” there, each time the profile is saved, the Display Name is synced with the Username, and any custom value you set in the backend or dashboard will be reset.

You can, for example, choose “First Name,” and if the First Name field is empty, the default fallback will still be the Username.
