Claim and paid listing plugins

I need help with knowing what plugins I need to buy. I have an events site, and want to:

  • For vendors to be able to claim their listings for free. Only up to 3.
  • To have 2 packages for vendors:
    • A free package that allows to claim or upload up to 3 listings
    • A paid package that allows to claim or upload up to 10 listing + allows them to have a customised vendor profile

I’ve watched this video from your Youtube channel, and I can see that I can create packages with Paid listings. My questions are:

  • How do I limit that “Free” vendors can only claim 3 listings?
  • Can I offer a customised vendor profile to “Paid” vendors? Does that exist or is it the same profile for all vendors?

Hi @barbmk,

The Paid Listings extension is in the process of being deprecated, in favour of the more feature-packed extension called Memberships. It has all of the same functionality, and more options to create and sell various upgrades or packages to your members.

I don’t believe there’s any default options to allow you to offer a ‘customised Vendor profile’ as you describe, but virtually anything is possible, if you’re willing to hire a skilled developer!

Hi,

Please consider using the Memberships extension for this, since we plan to deprecate the Paid Listings plugin as ChrisB mentioned. Memberships will allow you to set all the limitations you described, for example: limit the number of listing submissions or renewals (e.g., Basic plan allows 3 listings, and after that users need to upgrade to Premium), make the free plan non-renewable once limits are reached, offer plans to feature listings (make them more visible) for an additional fee, hide specific custom fields (e.g., additional profile fields) for the basic plan and show them only for users with premium plan.

Regarding Claim Listings, it’s a simple plugin. Users can submit a claim either for free or for a fixed fee per claim. Since each claim is paid individually, there’s no global limit. So you could simply set a fixed fee for submitting a claim, and handle all advanced limitations with Memberships instead.

Thank you kseniia! I will definetely buy the Memberships one. Thank you for explaining about the features. I think that the specific custom fields will make the customised vendor profile possible :slight_smile:
