Create a listing getting stuck at "complete profile"

Hello, thanks for your help in advance.

I just took over helping a site that had a very complicated signup process with multiple vendor types and users.

I thought it would be best for their users to go back to Hivepress defaults and remove the attributes, so all newly registered users can start as a default user and then create a listing to become a Vendor.

However, upon trying to test this new user flow, users cannot create a listing and are getting stuck at a “complete your profile” page. It is showing profile image, First and last name, and profile info all as “optional” and no matter what you fill this with, the page just saves over and over again and doesn’t allow the user to finish this step and move on to create a listing.

Steps to reproduce

List the steps to reproduce the issue.

I have attempted to create/remove user attributions to no avail, played with settings for vendors and users and “direct registration”

I have cleared all caches and removed third party plugins. All to no avail.

(added a screenshot above). I have seen a few posts have this issue, but I am not seeing any consistent fixes and all of these discussions had been closed before the user found a solid fix.

Thanks.

Hi,

Please disable third-party plugins and customizations (if there are any) and check if this issue persists. If you use a caching plugin, make sure that caching is disabled for logged-in users. Also, please refresh the permalinks: How to refresh WordPress permalinks - HivePress Help Center.

I hope this is helpful to you.

Hi Andrii,

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately, I had already disabled third-party plugins, and the only ones installed to begin with were speed optimizer and perfmatters.

I as well had cleared the cache before removing these, and when I installed the recommended plugin for use with Hivepress, I had made sure to disable caching for logged-in users as well.

I will try refreshing the permalinks as well.

Andrii,

Refreshing the permalinks worked, after loading a website backup? I am not entirely sure what happened but I am no longer stuck in this flow.

However, the options for setting up the account are still showing as (optional). Any way to get around this?

Hi,

Just to clarify, do you want to make those fields mandatory?

If so, you can check these PHP code snippets
