Custom feature listing link

Hey,

I’ve found some old topics asking about adding a link on individual listing pages that allows vendors to feature the listing they’re looking at, however, the topics didn’t provide any solutions.

Would you be able to kindly provide guidance on the best approach to implement this?

I’m happy to try and add this myself, but if you could please let me know the best way to fetch the relevant information for the vendors and their listing, that would be amazing!

Happy to share the code if I manage to get things working as intended!

Edit: I’m unsure on the placement yet, but I’m also considering adding the star icon on the listing card blocks next to the favourite and reply icons, but I’d need it to only show for the relevant vendor.)

Cheers,
Chris :victory_hand:

Hi Chris,

Please clarify if you mean the monetized Feature function, that redirects users to the checkout page? If so, do you use Paid Listings or Memberships?

Hi Ihor,

Yes, the monetised version of featuring listings, and it’s Memberships that I use. Ideally I’d be able to add a link or button on the individual listings page (details page).

I’d also quite like to add a star icon that triggers the featuring status as a new action item next to the favourite heart and speech bubble reply icons on listing cards.

I hope that makes sense!

Cheers,

It’s possible to insert a custom HTML block into the listing page template via the hivepress/v1/templates/listing_view_page hook. If you use Memberships, and there’s a linked product for the Featured plan (plan that has the Feature Limit set), the easiest way is probably creating a “buy now” link for it, or linking to the plans page with the Feature-related plans only (you can copy this URL when clicking the star icon, after the redirect). Please note that currently the selected listing is not featured automatically, after purchasing the plan users have to click Feature again (in Account/Listings), we plan to improve this in future Memberships updates.

Hope this helps

Many thanks for looking into this, and taking the time to reply, Ihor.

Perhaps, I’ll wait until the automatic featuring update is built-in to make things less confusing for end users. Pleased to hear that previous suggestion sounds like it’s going ahead at somepoint!

Hey Chris, it’s been a while.
Did you get to work?

Sorry, @kels - I haven’t had another look into it yet. Feel free to have a bash at solving it yourself with AI and share what you come up with, though!

Cheers,
Chris
