I want to customize several conditions of the search alert extension, such as:
e-mail sender name
e-mail title and message body to alert new listings matching the users’ search criteria
Options to alert by SMS/MMS
Are there any existing features to handle these customizations?
If no, any recommendations to work around?

Please try customizing the Listings Found and Requests Found (if you use the Requests extension) in HivePress/Emails section, you can override any email notification there. You can use a plugin like WP Mail SMTP to change the “from” name, email address, and other details for outgoing emails (also linking your site with Gmail or other email service improves deliverability).
There’s no SMS notification feature yet, but thanks - we’ll consider adding it.
