EventPrime plugin conflict with HivePress

Hi friends, I fully understand that this is not your problem per se, but I wanted to share it here in case it helps others, as well as see if you might have suggested workarounds. I have a site that uses EventPrime for managing community events. I wanted to add a Classifieds section so I found you all. I’ve used WPadverts in the past but wanted to try HivePress cause it looks even more mature.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Enable EventPrime plugin
  2. Enable HivePress plugin
  3. Try to create a Listings Template as shown https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YRKVBSKxhIo

Actual result

The HivePress blocks don’t appear UNLESS I disable to EventPrime plugin

Expected result

I would expect to see both the EventPrime and the HivePress blocks when trying to create HivePress Listing templates

Extra details

See screenshot in next post

If I disable to EventPrime plugin I can add a block to the template. Then, when I re-enable EventPrime HivePress gives me this error.

Hi,

Unfortunately, there is no simple solution. In order for a third-party plugin to work correctly, you need a custom implementation and possibly integration. Also, please note that we cannot guarantee 100% compatibility with third-party plugins.

I hope this is helpful to you.

That is not really helpful. I know you all can’t guarantee compatibility, but it would have been nice to have at least a little technical support to verify the issue is on the other plugins side and not caused by HivePress.

SOLUTION: I’ve swapped to wpadverts and that seems to be working with EventPrime.

Hi,

Please note that your issue was that the template blocks with a third-party plugin did not work, so the easiest option is to disable the third-party plugin; the more complicated one is to customize and integrate it to make everything work correctly. Unfortunately, customization and integration are not included in the support scope Support Policy | HivePress
We do not see any issues with the HivePress extension and have not received any other feedback from users that this extension does not work correctly.
