Hello! I’m running a room‐and‐whole‐unit rental site and have noticed that featured listings in category searches currently appear in a random order. That doesn’t meet user expectations—when someone searches by location, they expect the top results to match that area. Is there a way to ensure the top three featured listings for a given location always appear at the very top of its search results?
Hi,
Please note that all featured listings should be displayed in random order in the first slots that you can configure in HivePress > Settings > Listings > Featured Listings per Page. Also, after each page refresh, these listings will change (if, for example, you have 6 of them for this location and 3 slots, then after each page refresh, there will be 3 random listings at the start).
I hope it helps
Thank you for your response. I understand the current setup displays featured listings randomly in the configured slots. However, the goal is not to randomize featured listings but to prioritize them based on the user’s location search . Issue with the Current Approach
- The random order after every page refresh conflicts with the goal of showing location-relevant featured listings prominently.
- For example: If a user searches for “London” and sees random featured listings (some from Paris or Berlin), this creates a poor experience
What We Need
- Location-Based Filtering First:
- When a user searches for listings in a specific location (e.g., “New York”), the top 3 relevant featured listings in that location should appear at the top of the search results.
- Non-featured listings in the same location should follow.
I got an email from your support it seems the issue lies with my geo location radius was set to default and it was targetting a huge area due to the small size of my country. So this is solved thank you guys
