Filters for specific categories

Hi

I have attributes for all categories as well as for certain ones.
On the Properties page where you can filter, it is very unintuitive to first choose a category, then press Filter and then the filterable attributes for that category appear.

It should at least appear the moment someone clicks on the radio button for the category.
Is there a hook for that, or how would I acomplish that?
