Hiding job listings but still having it be searchable?

I’ve still been trying to improve my SEO on my site, because at the moment, I’m getting almost no visitors.

One person recommended that when a job expires, rather than deleting it from the wordpress backend (which is what I’ve been doing), I should keep it up but change the job text saying something like “I’m sorry, this job has expired, but here is a link to some other jobs you may be interested in.”

This way the job is still searchable and can be indexed by google. But assuming I do this, I will have a lot of jobs like this. Is there a way where I can get this expired ad still to show in google searches (so I can link them to similar jobs on my site), but not have this job show up in the general job category, or more specific job category on my site?

Because I want people to be able to find my site if they search for certain keyword jobs (so I can help that by keeping the expired jobs on my site rather than deleting them). But I don’t want to have people browse my jobs and encounter so many expired listings.

I hope I’m being clear with my question. Put another way, is there a way to keep my expired job listings up so they are discoverable by people searching on google, but somehow hidden on my site if people didn’t directly search for them?

Hi,

Unfortunately, there’s no such feature; it would require a custom implementation. But thanks for your suggestion, we’ll consider adding this feature.

Any idea how difficult it would be to implement this? If I tried to hire someone to do it, would it be a difficult, expensive task, or not so much?

Hi,

Unfortunately, we can’t provide you with more information, you need to review the code in detail to assess the possibility and time of customization.
