How do I add favorites and messages to the header? Is there a shortcode or a filter?

Please make sure that you use HivePress because the [adverts_manage] shortcode is related to another plugin (WP Adverts). If you use HivePress you don’t have to add these links manually, they appear in the Account menu automatically (if the current user added at least 1 listing to favorites, or sent/received at least 1 message).

I saw it. But I just want there to be a link to the chat in the header

I recommend using the HivePress account menu because even if you add a static link to the header menu (e.g. example.com/account/messages) it will redirect users away if they have not sent or received messages yet.
