How to add filter as a side bar

I am trying to add a filter to my sidebar for my all listing page to allow user to filter by catergory and locations

If, for example, you are using the ListingHive theme, then after importing the demo content, you should see the filter as in the demo version: Search Results for “” – ListingHive
Also, if you have overwritten a template in HivePress > Templates, for example, you can always add a filter to the sidebar using this documentation: How to customize templates - HivePress Help Center
