I want to have vendor permalinks that are good for SEO but don’t reveal the identify of the vendor so I change them on the vendor page but then they change back. I can’t find what triggers this. Is it a known bug? How can I stop this happening?

Please provide more details. Did you manually change these settings? Please note that permalink is always reset to username or attribute if you have assigned it as a vendor name source (in the vendor settings). Username is used because it is the only unique value in WordPress for users, and it cannot be manually changed in this version.
