i have my csv file of data (a list of museums with address, fees, contact info, etc.).
I have the HivePress Import plugin.
I don’t know how to migrate these properly. Each time I try it’s a little off.
I am thinking I will create the categories, attributes, etc., then manually enter a few entries. Then i will EXPORT these into CSV, so I can see the proper CSV format which I will then use to IMPORT the rest.
Is this a feasible plan? How can i do this? Thank you
Yes, you need to import listings using a CSV file. Please see this documentation for details: How to set up and import listings - HivePress Help Center. Also, check out this sample CSV file sample.csv - Google Drive. However, please note that you can only import listings. That is, if you need to import, for example, vendors, there is no such functionality, it will require the use of third-party plugins such as WP All Import (note that this plugin requires field mapping).
I know that when importing locations, you need to provide 3 parameters: the text (address) and the coordinates. What is the correct format to enter these data into an Excel cell?
How do I ensure the address for each listing clicks through to the correct place on a map when I do a bulk upload? I just get a Google map search. Do I have to edit every listing after I have done the bulk upload?
did you figure this out? I’m having a similar problem. I have to go in to each listing after the bulk upload and manually correct the address to get it to display on the map.
