I am receiving numerous registrations from test emails and I suspect bot registrations. I have the reCaptcha in place and email verification setup but still these test registrations go through.

Please make sure that registration is disabled in the WordPress/Settings/General section, this enables the back-end registration form and many spam bots to detect it.

I unchecked the “Anyone can register” box and haven’t had a bot registration thereafter.
