How to set up companies as vendors

Hello all,

My marketplace uses a demand side approach where the user creates the listing of what they want and then the company contacts them to offer their services. In this case, the User is considered a Vendor since they created the listing. However, I’d like to inverse see as I’d like to keep track of the actual companies registering and so that they can create a company logo, profile, etc.

What would be the best approach to do so?

thank you all in advance

Hi,

The easiest option is to use the JobHive theme: https://jobhive.hivepress.io
But if you have a different theme, you can use the Loco Translate plugin to change vendors to companies, for example: How to change any static text - HivePress Help Center

I hope this is helpful to you.

Thank you.

However, how can I keep track of companies (but who are not creating listings) but are registered? They all go through the same registration process and end up in ‘Users’ section of Wordpress Dashboard. Once they create a listing, they go to the vendor section of the dashboard. However, as of now, the users (not the companies) will go to vendors and while everyone (users and companies) will be in Users. So it would be difficult to tell who is who.

Does it make sense?

Hi,

In our extension, everyone registers through one form. However, users become vendors only when they have at least one published listing (or the direct registration for vendors feature is enabled). Also, note that the vendor has the Contributor role, so you can distinguish them from regular users, since they have the Subscriber.
