There’s no function in the Import plugin that affects image size, image resizing happens at the WordPress level. We use the core WordPress function: wp_handle_upload() – Function | Developer.WordPress.org
Could you please check if you have any other plugins that might be affecting the images? Optimization and caching plugins often have image compression and WebP conversion features enabled by default, which could be causing the quality reduction you’re seeing.
Please share an example of both the original image URL and the compressed one (WordPress stores both when uploading, you can copy the URLs from WP Media). This will help us advise you on what might be causing the issue.

I have updated the image size in wordpress settings and used “regenerate thumbnails” plugin as suggested by AI Assistant. It’s now resolved thanks!
