Incorrect display of the listing after customizing the template

Hi everyone,

I’m using HivePress with the Requests plugin (I’ve renamed “Requests” to “Jobs”) to create a jobs board. I recently built a custom template to add a heading and some text, but when I view the jobs board on mobile, the job listings become very small.

Has anyone experienced this issue before? I’d love some guidance on how to fix it so the listings display properly on mobile devices. Any advice on what might be causing this and how to resolve it would be greatly appreciated!

I have attached images to show what it looks like and what elements I used in the template.

Hi,

We checked this issue from our side, and it seems okay. Please provide more details regarding this issue (e.g., your actions step by step with screenshots, etc.). This will help us to reproduce and resolve the issue faster.

Hi Andrii,

I was a bit frustrated and ended up deleting the original template, but I’ve since remade it, and unfortunately, the same problem persists.

It seems that I can either have the template looking good on mobile or on desktop, but not both simultaneously.

To get it looking right on desktop, I’ve set it up using two columns—one for the filter form on the left and the job listings on the right. However, this approach causes the job listings to be reduced in size on mobile.

On the other hand, if I don’t use any columns, the mobile version displays as expected, similar to how it looks in the ExpertHive demo.

Could you please advise on how I can achieve a responsive layout that works well for both desktop and mobile?

As a quick fix I have removed columns and the filter so it looks good on both.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi,

If you are using WP column blocks, then they should be on the mobile version one below the other (i.e. no more in columns). We recommend that you review the column settings, perhaps there are breakpoints that will allow you to display everything correctly, exactly at this width.

If there are no such settings, and the display is still incorrect, then CSS tweaks will be needed here, as the template overwrite feature is still in beta.
