a Japanese virus hacked my wp site, I discovered it yesterday when my domain in Google returned many pages with Chinese characters, I suspect that the hack went through a plugin that had not been updated for a long time, the virus took away my access via ssh to ubuntu/site and via ftp, installed the wordfence plugin to crawl and remove new generated pages, but for now what I can notice is that the index.php file is at risk and also the child theme’s function.php is renamed to functionsbak.php . Can anyone tell me what can be done to cleanse the virus?
