I would like to create a landing page that is for pre-registration before I launch my site. I understand that I can just build a page, include the elements and form I would like, use custom CSS to hide the header and footer.
As I have already created many other pages for my site, still designing and in the works, can I simply change their status to draft and then they will not show?
Then when I launch I will omit the ‘landing page’ and publish the other pages? Also, when I get to that stage , can I provide temporary login so the HivePress team can login to add the CSS to hide header and footer?
If anyone has suggestions of another way to create a landing page I am open to it.
You can create a temporary homepage where you add content like the user registration form and any other pre-launch content you need.
We can provide a snippet with a condition like “if it’s not this page, redirect to this page anyway.” This way you could even publish other pages without them being accessible (or to be 100% SEO-proof, you could keep all other pages in draft status and only have the homepage published).
We can also provide CSS to hide the header and footer if needed for a cleaner pre-launch look.
