Hi HivePress Team,
I’m running six paid installations of HivePress across different websites, and I’ve noticed a recurring issue after each update. Every time the plugin or theme updates, I get the warning message that I need to re‑enter my license key. The current solution works, but it’s tedious when managing multiple sites — I have to log in, go to Integrations, scroll down to the License Key field, and click Save so the site recognizes the licensed copy.
This becomes even more time‑consuming as I expand my “Island chain” business model. Right now it’s six sites, but soon it could be 10, 15, or 20. Doing this process manually across all installations is a real pain point.
I’d like to suggest two improvements:
-
Automatic License Verification After Updates
-
Instead of requiring manual re‑saving, HivePress could automatically check and validate the existing license key during the update process.
-
This would eliminate repetitive steps and streamline updates for users managing multiple sites.
-
-
Protected License Key Field
-
Currently, the license key field is fully visible and editable. This means anyone with admin access could accidentally delete or overwrite it.
-
Masking or “graying out” the field (while still allowing intentional updates if needed) would prevent accidental loss and save the hassle of tracking down which license belongs to which site.
-
Together, these changes would make HivePress much easier to manage at scale, especially for users running multiple licensed installations.
Thanks for considering this feedback — I think it would save a lot of time and frustration for multi‑site users.
