Is there a way to enable M4A files?

Hi,

Please provide more details about the chat you are referring to and we will try to help. Also, please send this file for testing.

I don’t have the file as it is a platform user. The user just wants to add it as a file attachment to a message. My settings should allow any file, but the M4A file does not work.

I tried to replicate this error and cannot, so will further investigate with the customer. I’ll send an update here.

I tried to upload the file myself now and I get an error as well.
I cannot upload the file here in the forum either.

Any idea why this happens?

I also tried to limit it to AAC only, but get a similar error.

Hi,

I see. We have checked this in more detail, and there are no restrictions on our part, it is a restriction on the part of WordPress because they do not support this type of file: 7 WordPress Allowed File Types Explained: Upload Other File Types

We recommend considering third-party plugins that can allow you to upload such files.

I hope this is helpful to you.

Thanks, I solved it now with your suggestion.
For anybody having similar issues, here is a useful article and a plugin that solves this issue.

(add aac = audio/aac in the plugin)
