Mapbox regions not setting anymore

Mapbox region for listing is no longer set when an adress is updated on a listing (or for new listings), independently on how private/public keys are configured.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Set private HTTP-restricted Mapbox key as the first one
  2. Set public Mapbox key as the “private” key
  3. Open a listing in the backend (Wordpress), update adress.
  4. Check if region was set

Extra details

Add a link to your site, screenshots or any other details that may help us pinpoint the issue.

Hi,

We are currently unable to reproduce the issue on our end [please see the screencast that shows that the regions are generated]. Could you please provide more details so we can try to replicate it? For example, any steps we might have missed, screenshots, or a link to your website would be helpful.

Please make sure that in HivePress > Settings > Geolocation you have selected Mapbox as the Map Service Provider, enabled the Region option, generated and pasted both the API and Secret Keys for Mapbox, and are using the latest version of the Geolocation extension. If you have tried all these suggestions and the issue still persists, please send temporary WP access to support@hivepress.io with details for reproducing this issue, and we’ll check it (please send only the link, without login and password). You can create a temporary access link using this plugin.

Just adding a note to remind myself that I’m also unable to generate regions whilst using mapbox.

I’m dealing with something else at the moment, but if you figure this out, let me know the solution and/or I’ll send my own login info soon.

Cheers,
Chris :victory_hand:

@kseniia I think I found the issue. It’s an “åäö” issue. If I set the adress to London, England, it works and the country, region, subregion, city is correctly created. But Swedish adresses no longer work, probably because all are in a region called “län” with the ä.

Please try to set your listing to the city “Malmö” and you should be able to replicate the error, I just tried that and the region is remaining at London. Thank you.

Thank you for the details.

It doesn’t seem to be related to umlauts, as we were able to generate regions with names like Malmö, Höör, and Västerås without any issues [please see the screenshot].

Please send temporary WP access to support@hivepress.io with the link to this issue, and our dev will the issue (please send only the link, without login and password). You can create a temporary access link using this plugin.
