Membership Extension Functionality

I want to buy the membership plugin but first need to know if I will be able to separate the members from the vendors.

Vendors need to be able to submit free listings, so I disabled the paid listings plugin, and vendors can sign-up/submit listings through the ‘Add Project’ button, which works.

What I need to know is if members who are charged a monthly fee through the membership plugin, and signs up thorough a link in the main menu, will also be able to submit listings after signing up or if this can be restricted?

Hi,

Please note that Membership does not restrict the publication of listings, with this extension you can restrict access to all listing pages (including search and category pages), individual listing pages, or certain listing attributes. You can also restrict access to certain features, such as sending messages or adding reviews. Restricting the creation of a listing is the functionality of the Paid Listings extension.

So if someone signs up through the ‘Add Listing’ button, they can actually bypass paying for a membership. They can then just create a profile, not submit a listing, and still be able to send messages etc.?

Yes, they don’t have to pay for membership. If you want to monetize the publication of listings, I recommend using the Paid Listings extension.
