- Fixed users redirect when adding listings
There was an infinite redirect loop for logged-out users. - Fixed reducing the message limit
The message restriction was applied, but the limit wasn’t reduced. - Fixed compatibility with Paid Listings
This was needed for websites still using Paid Listings for featuring.
It is still not compatible with paid listing. The feature button are sending users to checkout page when i have both paid and membership plugin
Hey @Info1,
I’m not HivePress staff, just trying to help!
That sounds like intended behaviour? (Charging to feature a listing)
If you can describe what’s ‘wrong’ in more detail, you’ll get a better response once the staff have a chance to reply.
Cheers,
Chris
User A has membership with 20x featured listing. It works as it should when i have paid listing plugin deactivated. But if i have paid listing plugin activated it is sending users to checkout page
That’s better! Now the staff can try and reproduce the bug, and if they can will likely push out a fix soon. If they can’t, it’s possibly to do with the way you’ve got things set up. (i.e conflicting settings)
I’m sure you’ll hear back soon!
Cheers,
Chris
I have another question. If a user has 20x featured listing and he submits a listing why are they still sent to paid listing plan page? shouldnt their listing be featured automatically? If they have to manually feature their listing then will they need to create a free listing first? What if i do not have a free listing option?
Hi,
Please note that if Paid Listings is enabled and the product is set in HivePress > Settings > Listings > Featuring, then this feature will always be used (when there was one payment for 1 featuring).
Please provide more details, such as your use case and why you need to use this feature from Paid Listings if it is available in Memberships, and we will try to provide a solution or workaround.
Most of the users are landlords that wants to list one property that they might want to feature. signing up as a member would not make sense for them. however there are agents who would be interested in signing up as a member as they have multiple listings. so i would need membership for agents and paid listing for landlords.
Hey @Info1,
Just another idea…
Would two membership plans not provide the same functionality for you with less plugins to deal with?
i.e:
Membership option 1 charges X to list X listings.
Membership option 2 charges X to list 1 listing.
Giving users the option will also likely help convert a few more users to choose the greater membership even if they only actually ever list one.
Obviously it depends on your use case, but you could even offer something like…
A) 1 Listing = £
B) 10 Listings = ££
C) Unlimited Listings = £££
Just an idea!
Cheers,
Chris
I will test the user flow if using only membership and removing paid listings totally will get back to this thread in a day or two
I think the only change is that users select a package first, rather than after adding their listing details as with Paid Listings. I believe all other functionally Paid Listings offered has now been merged and integrated into the Memberships extension. As far as O understand, the Paid Listings extension will only receive maintenance updates and bug fixes going forward as Memberships has essentially replaced it.
Hi,
Yes, almost everything is as you described. However, please note that we no longer plan to add updates for Paid Listings, and this extension will soon be outdated.
Hi andrii. i have thought out carefully and i will still require paid listings for my use case unless there are tweaks available. Right now i have 3 types of users. Tenants, landlords and agents. I have customized it such that when a tenant clicks on a whatsapp button they will be redirected to submit listing form. And if i have membership plugin activated it will send them to the membership plan page. Which i do not want. Ill need them to immediately proceed to the submit listing page so they can enter their details and submit listing without interruption which will unlock whatsapp button for them to contact listings. additional steps will increase bounce rate which leads to reduced leads for listers. For landlords and agents the user flow is fine with membership.
Hi,
Please provide more details on why you need to send two types of users to the Add Listing form. Also, Paid Listings is more suitable because it has a feature to restrict packages to categories?
There are 2 types of users. Agents and Landlords will list rooms and units. Tenants will list their profile. Membership is not meant for tenants. Once they list their profile whatsapp will be unlocked for them to contact landlords ,likewise landlords and agents will be able to contact them via their profile. Is there a way to have both membership and paid plugin to be compatible with each other?
A post was split to a new topic: Restricting the publication of a listing also restricts access to the listing content
Hi,
Sorry, but I’m not quite sure what use case you mean. The Memberships extension has all the features of the Paid Listings extension, so they are not compatible because the features will be duplicated, causing a conflict. That is, you can create a plan for both adding listing (this will be used by the vendor) and viewing a certain attribute (this will be used by regular users).
