I’m encountering an issue with my website’s speed score. I’ve optimized everything possible — all images are in WebP format, I’m using very few plugins, and LiteSpeed Cache is configured exactly as recommended on your website.
Despite all this, I’m still getting an extremely low Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) score on mobile devices only. All the other metrics are excellent, but the poor LCP score is dragging the overall average down significantly, which is having a serious impact on my SEO.
Is there anything that can be done to improve this mobile LCP issue?
I don’t think this is related to my hosting, since I don’t have issues with other sites. I ran the following test: I rebuilt a WordPress site from scratch with only the Google Site Kit plugin installed to check the speed score. At the very beginning, the score was good (see image 1). Then, I installed only the HivePress plugin, and the score already dropped to “needs improvement” (see image 2). Finally, I activated the Hive Listing theme and imported the demo, and the score went down to “poor” (see image 3).
This only affects the mobile score, and especially the Largest Contentful Paint (LCP). After looking into it further with PageSpeed Insights, it seems this is mostly related to the header image.
