For some reason, only my administrator account that installed the plugin can edit the host field on a listing record. No new administrators that I create, nor any other users can. For them it is grey. Only one administrator user is able to edit this field which very much confuses me. What could be the reason for this issue? This is important when backend users create new listings for different hosts.
If you create a listing on the backend, the author is automatically assigned to the current user. If you need to change the host, set the listing to draft status, refresh the page, and you will have a field to change the host.
Hi and thanks for the quick feedback! I didn’t word correctly what’s happening. I am talking about the process of creating a new listing. My user is the only administrator that can assign any host during the creation before it’s saved. All others can only change the host from themselves to another user when editing the listing, thus they have to save it first. I can’t spot the difference in settings between our users that causes this.
This is expected behavior. Most likely, your main admin is the user first created in WordPress, which is always set by default. Therefore, other admin users must select the user as the author of the listing and save the listing, then the vendor will change.
I don’t mind the vendor default to be the main admin. However is it possible to avoid needing backend users to save a listing before they can edit the field value?
