Options to Verify Vendors Identity

I need your help and suggestions on this please:

I would like vendors’ idenity to be verified as the law does require that.

(1) Given that I am suing the taskhive theme, what would be the best approach to achieve this? I don’t prefere vendors attaching their IDs as I am afraid of malicous file that can be uploaded. Please suggest me the best options

(2) Usually do clients also have to be verified apart from email confirmation? if yes, what kind of veirificationmay be required ?

(3) Is it possible for users (both clients and vendors) to also confirm if they are not robot during sign up/registration (e.g have a CAPTCHA field for bot protection?

Hi @pasco,

HivePress doesn’t have any built-in functionality to verify users, but you can easily add a custom submission form to your site by using a plugin such as Contact Form 7.

You could also consider setting up a dedicated email address, and then instruct users to send their proof of identification or qualifications via email.

It’s entirely up to you as to how you run your website, i.e if you want to require regular users to prove their identity, as well, however, it’s worth noting many users will find this step irritating and it’s likely to reduce the number of sign-ups.

Once you’ve received the identification or qualifications and reviewed them, they’re generally deleted to help reduce the chances of sentitive data leakage, and via the backend of WordPress you can mark a vendor as featured by visiting Vendors > [name] > Check the box that says “Mark this vendor as verified”.

Like you mentioned, you can also use Recaptcha to help reduce the number of spam sign-ups, and/or, require Users to confirm their email address before their account is activated.

I hope this helps!

Thank you so much for your suggestions and advice @ChrisB, it’s really helpful.

I will go through the contact form 7 docs .

Can you kindly give me a few steps (if possible) on how I can do the last one in Taskhive/ (This one: use Recaptcha to help reduce the number of spam sign-ups, and/or, require Users to confirm their email address before their account is activated)

Hi @pasco,

It’s no problem!

To set up recaptcha on your site, have a read of this documentation.

And, to make users require email confirmation, simply visit the backend of WordPress then go to HivePress > Settings > Users, check this option, and don’t forget to Save the changes.

I hope this helps!

Cheers,

Thanks @ChrisB , you just saved me. Sorry I forgot to ask this too:

Does taskhive also support stripe payment ? if yes, how about stripe identify verification?

Hi @pasco,

Yes, TaskHive is fully compatible with all of the HivePress extensions.

The Marketplace extension allows you to provide automatic payouts to Vendors via Stripe, if you choose to enable this.

If this option is enabled - after a Vendor completes their Profile information they’ll be redirected to Stripe to finish on-boarding there, before eventually being redirected back to your site.

Stripe has their own identity verification methods, but there’s not currently any built-in functionality to sync this back to your site and mark vendors as verified that way.

If you decide to purchase the Marketplace extension, you’ll likely find the following documentation useful when setting things up.

Cheers,

Hi,

It appears Chris has addressed your requests. If you have any further questions, please feel free to post them.

Just in case, TaskHive is bundled with the Marketplace plugin, so no additional purchases are required.

Thank you @ChrisB . I really apprecaite your support and detailed guidance.
