Permalink issue after creating custom URLs

So I did change the permalink structure some time ago. Now there are some problems showing up, and I think the permalinks are to blame. I’ve tried to revert the changes, but I am not sure what I did and I haven’t been able to fix the problems. These are the bugs:

  1. When pressing on number 2 or 3 on the account/listings page (if you have that many listings)(the link is account/listings/page/2) → you turn up on the first page.
  2. When pressing “Show” (grey button) on the page account/vendor/orders/XXXX/ (the link is view-oeder/1022/?page_id=17) → you also turn up on the start page.
  3. When pressing a page number on account/bookings page (the link is: account/bookings/page/2) → I also en up on the start page.

Not sure why these bugs exist or if they have to do with the permalinks. But I think so. Please help! I did try to deactivate child theme and most of the plugins without any difference.

Hello,
Normally when you have a permalink error, saving your permalinks again should put everything back in order.

/wp-admin/options-permalink.php

My two cents,

Do you mean just opening that file and saving it again? Or do you mean getting a new installation of wordpress and coping that file, replacing the current one? I don’t really follow? I guess my changes are made in the database, right?

Still not sure this causes my issues, since it wasn’t fixed when I tried to revert the wp-permalink-settings. Any other thoughts?

Hi,

We recommend updating your permalinks using this documentation How to refresh WordPress permalinks - HivePress Help Center and making sure you have the post_name structure specified. Also, please clarify: by creating custom URLs, do you mean adding them with custom code?

Thanks for the answer!

I will take a look at the post you sent me quite soon. But first, you changed the title of my question, adding “after adding custom urls”. So I don’t really know what you meant, haha. But trying to answer your question: I have just changed paramlink stettings in the standard wordpress setting. That’s it, no custom code.

The reason I end up on the start page when pressing these links is probably since I have a setting letting all 404 errors redirect the user to the first page. So it’s a 404 error!

Hi,

Please send temporary WP access to support@hivepress.io with details for reproducing this issue, and we’ll check it (please send only the link, without login and password). You can create a temporary access link using this plugin Temporary Login Without Password – WordPress plugin | WordPress.org.

Hi,

Sorry for the delay. For some reason, your email went to spam. We have checked this issue and after disabling all third-party plugins, redirects work correctly. We recommend that you disable all third-party plugins except HivePress and WooCommerce and test again. After that, enable one plugin at a time to understand which one is causing the issue.

I hope this is helpful to you
