Registration options for service seekers and listing submissions

Hello HivePress team,

We are building a platform where users can either offer services or look for someone to provide a service.

Is it possible to let users choose their role during registration, for example “I offer services” or “I’m looking for a service”? We would like people who choose “I’m looking for a service” to be able to publish listings describing what they need.

Can both types of listings be supported within the same HivePress installation, with separate categories or submission forms? If so, which HivePress features or extensions would you recommend for this setup?

You can enable direct vendor registration so that users who offer services are registered as vendors from the start: How to add a vendor registration form - HivePress Help Center

By default, HivePress has two roles: Subscribers (general users) and Contributors (vendors) [this is how they indicated in WordPress Dashboard > Users]. Users become vendors after they have at least one listing, but if you want to skip this requirement, you can enable direct vendor registration.
