Removing Header Image area at the top of the home page

Is there a way to remove the page space where the header image goes? I would like to use that for additional listings and dont need an image.

This header section is defined by the Read More block; thus, deleting it will disable the header image area. To customize the page layout, go to Dashboard>Pages, click Edit on the Home Page and delete the Read More block.

Thank you. So just to be clear, will I still have the capability to insert text at the top and not images?
