Since the theme does not yet have the ability to maintain a constant number of listings in categories, I came up with another option. But there were problems with him.
I want to publish free packages every month to add listings to a specific category. The duration of free listings is 30 days. At the end of the month I delete this package and create a new free package to publish listings in the same category. But when the user tries to use a new free package for the same category, nothing happens. It just throws it on the main page, and the new package is not added.
Yes, this workaround may not work because the extension doesn’t allow adding another free package, there can be only 1 at a time (and only if re-using free packages is allowed in HivePress/Settings/Listings).
Is there any other way to set up a fixed number of free lots? I saw here on the forum that such a function is planned in the future, but I would like to do at least something similar now.
If you mean a fixed number of free listings per month, unfortunately there’s no such feature yet, packages differ from membership plans and they are not limited in time, but listings added via packages may be limited via the expiration period.
I want the user to have a fixed number of free lots for advertisements. That is, for example, the seller is given 5 free advertisements. He made 5. He spent it. He now has 0. But then he sold something and deleted 1 ad. He again had one free ad. Then I deleted another one - now the seller has 2 free ads.
Unfortunately the Paid Listings extension has a different logic, it doesn’t count the package limit like “X listings at a time”, it’s just a way to charge a flat fee for each listing submission while selling in bulk (to offer smaller prices for higher limits, or other purposes). Implementing this logic would require advanced customizations.
You can also try to create packages linked to a free product, then re-selecting such packages may work, but unfortunately there’s no guaranteed workaround.
