Restrict Category of Listings based on User Role

Dear All,
Forgive me if this has been answered else. I just came across this "How can I hide List a service button " , but it seems not applicable.
Let me explain my requirement
a. There will be Different User Roles. a) Admin - View everything (obviously) b) Author (View all category of listings) c) Subscriber - View only a specific category of listing)
Now to make it clear let me add some categories too
a) Electronics Category
b) Furniture Category
c) Commission_Rates Category

Now Role based access
Author : Can view Electronics, Furniture, Commission_Rates above. Can Add only to Electronics, Furniture. Can not add / modify Commission_Rates

Subscriber : Can only view Electronics, Furniture. Can not view Commission_Rates. Can not modify Electronics, Furniture

Is it possible to achieve this ? Or any particular extension recommended ?
