Restricting reviews to buyers only

Hi there Team HP

When we restrict reviews to buys on the Munchies4U setup, reviews can’t be submitted.
We’ve changed the setup to be rating based only, but only when we disable Restrict Reviews to Buyer can reviews be submitted, even with all the custom snippets relating to reviews enabled. We also tried disableing all the custom snippets, but still no luck.
We are aware that the reviews are limited to users who have previously purchased/booked a listing, but that taken into context, the problem still persists.

Any advice to try and resolve this?

We have had a “problem” with reviews before as there was another ticket which has now closed, in which Andrii explained the restriction to users who have previously booked the listing. That was what we didn’t know back then and have taken that into account this time. So we are trying to add reviews to listings the user has booked before. :upside_down_face:

Hi,

We checked this issue from our side, and it seems okay. After the order received the completed status, we were able to leave a review on the listing we bought (with the restrict reviews to buyers feature enabled). Please note that we tested it on your site, with the listing of Chicken Pasta Bake.

Hi there Team HP (Andrii)

What event triggers the Order Completed email as we received it for the first time this morning due to Ihor’s test booking (purchase) and see it still needs customization? We can’t test the complete booking (order) process in our setup yet as the payment gateway doesn’t work on our Staging setup due to the password protection?
So what we currently do is change the booking’s (order’s) status to published in WP Admin >Bookings > Bookings (I think the default HP path would be, in our case WP Admin > Orders > Orders), and that triggers the Order Confirmed (Host) and (User) emails (that we’re still trying to customize with the code snippet you provided us). But we see the test order Ihor made doesn’t appear in the WP Admin > Orders > Orders (HivePress) list, but it appears in the WP Admin WooCommerce > Orders and its status is Completed.
So where and how do we modify the Orders in the WP Admin to change the booking (order) to WooCommerce status completed that will then trigger the Order Completed email, and that will obviously allow Buyers to be able to Review (Rate) the listing? (the fix to this topic it seems)

While on the topic of the two lists in the WP Admin, what’s the difference between the WP Admin > Orders > Orders (HivePress) list and the WP Admin > WooCommerce > Orders list?

Hi,

For some reason, bookings on your website are renamed to orders. Also, nothing is displayed in the Account on the frontend side; most likely this is a problem with third-party plugins, customizations, and caching. Please disable third-party plugins and customizations (if there are any) and check if this issue persists. If you use a caching plugin, make sure that caching is disabled for logged-in users.

I hope this is helpful to you.
